VANESSA NOWACK is an artist, designer and craftsperson versed in many genres and mediums.
Growing up in New England Vanessa learned to sew and restore furniture picked up from flea markets and second-hand shops. In 2000 she moved to Boston and completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Northeastern University.
Natural talent and fervor for design led Nowack to follow her interests through food, fashion and advertising before settling into the interior design industry. She specialized in custom built-in furniture for residential and commercial clients working for California Closets in Boston. Nowack’s innate sense of space, symmetry and form made her the go-to consultant for unique and challenging design projects.
Nowack left America in 2017 to travel Southeast Asia and Europe before moving to Barcelona and establishing her own design venture, La Verdad Studio. Through an unexpected turn of events she co-founded Jolene, a cafe for which she was originally designing.
Vanessa specializes in bespoke furniture restoration, space-planning and curated interiors. Her broad skill set and design philosophy lead her to pursue projects with both purpose and aesthetic. She is inspired by the Sagrada Familia, Kendrick Lamar, and anyone who does physical labor barefoot.
